Kenneth C. Strawn Announces Candidacy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Henderson County, Texas — November 02, 2025
After prayer and discussions with friends and family, Kenneth C. Strawn has officially announced his candidacy for Henderson County Attorney in the 2026 Republican Primary, which will be held on March 3, 2026. A lifelong public servant, Strawn brings 18 years of legal experience—including more than 15 years as a prosecutor and 3 years as a public defender—along with a proven record of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the people of Henderson County.
Throughout his career as a prosecutor, Strawn has handled thousands of cases, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, and has also managed numerous civil matters on behalf of the State and County. His broad courtroom experience and understanding of both criminal and civil law provide the balanced, practical judgment needed to serve effectively as County Attorney.
Before earning his law degree, Strawn graduated at the top of his class in Economics, with a double major in Computer Systems and a minor in Management. In law school, he completed a dual emphasis in both Civil and Criminal Litigation, preparing him to handle the diverse legal challenges facing county government. During his studies, he also interned at the United States Department of State, gaining valuable experience in federal government operations and public service.
Strawn currently serves as an Assistant County Attorney, working closely with department heads, elected officials, and the Commissioners Court. In this role, he has built strong working relationships across county government while ensuring that county operations are conducted responsibly, efficiently, and in accordance with the law.
Strawn and his wife, Karen, are proud to call Henderson County home. Karen serves as the Student Advocacy Coordinator at Trinity Valley Community College and, like her husband, has devoted nearly her entire career to public service.
Strawn is active in several professional and conservative organizations, including the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, and the National Rifle Association. Strawn is also a member of the Henderson County Bar Association, where he has previously served as President and Vice President. He is also an Eagle Scout, reflecting a commitment to leadership, service, and community values.
“I’ve spent my entire professional life serving the public,” Strawn said. “That experience has taught me the importance of fairness, accountability, and working together to solve problems. Henderson County deserves a full-time County Attorney—someone fully dedicated to protecting our community and serving our citizens every day.”
As a Republican, Strawn emphasized his commitment to conservative values, responsible leadership, fiscal responsibility, and transparency in local government.
“This office belongs to the people,” he said. “As your full-time County Attorney, I will continue to serve with integrity, accessibility, and a deep commitment to justice for all.”
